The Difference You Will Make:

In this role, you will drive the technical direction of our Production Infrastructure Security. You will architect, design, scale and maintain services that create a secure by default, best practices environment. In addition, you get to define what else needs to be done.

A Typical Day:

  • Partner and work Work across functions to ensure the security of the entire production infrastructure
  • Drive automation and create best in class cloud security
  • Build pipelines to enable a secure by default developer environment
  • Drive best in class secrets management
  • Security architecture, design, and code reviews across infrastructure
  • Establish security goals across other departments

Your Expertise:

  • 9+ years of infrastructure or application security (SWE or Security Engineer)
  • 3+ years of experience working on IaaS Security (AWS is preferred), Hashicorp Terraform, including OS Hardening, Kubernetes Security, Cloud Resource security config management, etc.
  • Experience scaling services at scale
  • Experience finding ways to enable other engineers to develop secure products by default without requiring security expertise.
  • Experience in at least one of the following programming languages: Ruby, Java, Python, JavaScript, Go or C/C++.
  • Significant experience in building robust internal products/tools or production backend services at scale.
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing (AWS) operations.
  • Interest in building and breaking and solving large cross functional security challenges.

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
