SUMMARY
Blaize’s Corporate Controller is a trusted advisor when it comes to managing risks while running a complex and international business and can translate financial data into useful information and turn leadership strategy into an actionable plan. The Corporate Controller will undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct and supervise accounting, finance, and general ledger functions including day-to-day operations and financial reporting of the company.
- Manage monthly and yearly reporting, tax, and audit compliance.
- Lead accounting functions for revenue, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Must have knowledge of ASC 606 for revenue recognition purposes.
- Manage the tax function for direct and indirect taxes.
- Coordinate financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), international financial reporting standards (IFRS), and cost accounting standards (CAS).
- Develop and implement necessary financial accounting policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Create and maintain SOX internal controls for SOX compliance.
- Act as a key liaison with management team members.
- Establish and maintain global banking/treasury relations.
- Act as a technical accounting expert. Maintain in-depth and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of US GAAP accounting principles.
- International experience and management of statutory audits.
- Advise management of potential changes in accounting guidance or practices that may impact operations and reporting.
- Plan and lead Audit Committee meetings.
- Position may require travel as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a CPA.
- 12 years of combined accounting and finance experience with 4 of those in a Controller or similar position for a US GAAP-based company with an international presence.
- 5+ years of experience managing a finance team.
- Experience managing accounting processes, contributing to a monthly accounting close, and experience with international accounting.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and operational accounting/financial reporting processes.
- Experience in international reporting.
- Able to provide the leadership, structure, and vision.
- Large ERP experience and excellent spreadsheet skills
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and be comfortable managing through organization and process change.
