Position Summary

The Associate Network Administrator will play a pivotal role in assisting with the management and maintenance of the Domo’s network infrastructure. This role is tailored for an enthusiastic candidate who possesses a solid foundation in networking concepts and is eager to gain hands-on experience in a professional setting. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior network administrators to ensure the stability, security, and performance of our network systems.

Key Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Support

• Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls;
• Monitor network performance and identify anomalies or potential issues;
• Contribute to the implementation of network upgrades and expansions.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution

• Respond to user-reported network problems and provide timely solutions;
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues;
• Escalate complex problems to senior administrators when needed.

Network Security

• Support the implementation of security measures to protect the network infrastructure;
• Assist in monitoring network traffic for unusual activities and security breaches;
• Contribute to the maintenance of firewall rules and access controls.

Systems Administration

• Assist with basic server administration tasks, including user account management and access control;
• Participate in server and system updates and patches under supervision.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and incidents;
• Contribute to the creation of network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.

Learning and Skill Development

• Engage in ongoing training and self-study to enhance networking knowledge and skills;
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends.

Collaboration

• Work closely with team members to ensure smooth coordination of network-related tasks;
• Collaborate with IT personnel on cross-functional projects and initiatives.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience;
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and LAN/WAN;
• Familiarity with network hardware components, such as routers, switches, and firewalls;
• Exposure to Windows and/or Linux operating systems;
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards learning and growth;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure/GCP or other cloud compute platforms a plus;
• Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft MTA, are a plus.
