What you’ll do

Realm is seeking a Sr Accountant to develop and execute our accounting policies and process. This individual will report to the VP of Finance & Strategy and work closely with our CEO, executive leadership team, and external accounting firm to ensure that our books are kept up to date and accurate for quick decision-making and reporting.

The Sr Accountant must be extremely detail-oriented yet efficient, and capable of being a self-starter in a fluid and fast-paced startup environment. Effective priority management, creative problem-solving, and flexibility are key in this role.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing, managing, and enforcing GAAP-compliant procedures
• Serving as point of contact for our external accounting firm and managing their services
• Performing and managing the monthly close processes
• Managing accounts receivables and accounts payables invoice processing
• Creating and maintaining budgeting tools including budget-to-actual reporting, financial planning and analysis, cash flow analysis, and cost savings analysis
• Preparing financial reports and updating complex financial models
• Ensuring a smooth audit process by creating and maintaining internal controls, establishing and maintaining immaculate record keeping and managing the audit process
• Performing ad hoc assignments and financial analysis as needed, including assisting with investor reporting and Board updates

Requirements

• 4-8 years of related experience
• Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in accounting or finance preferred
• Big 4 experience and CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Strong knowledge of corporate finance, GAAP, and other accounting theory
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports; proficiency in three statement financial modeling
• A self-starter, comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment without close oversight
• Ability to make recommendations based on analysis and research
• Able to create structure and foundational accounting processes from the ground up
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• High level of organization and attention to detail

Nice-to-haves:

• Prior experience at a start-up or high-growth technology company
• Familiarity with the calculation and forecasting of relevant business metrics including LTV:CAC, CAC payback, cash runway, funnel conversion, and actual vs. ramped margins
• Familiarity with Ramp, QuickBooks, and Justworks

Salary Range: $120k - $150k plus equity
