What you'll do
Empower people to do the best work of their careers.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, mentor and grow engineers while keeping them engaged and focused on the product and company vision.
Partner with business stakeholders and Product Management to craft and evolve the team’s vision, mission, and strategy and solve problems as they arise.
Set and fulfill the engineering hiring plan for the team, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing.
Work with software vendor partners where needed on integration design and resolving any issues.
Drive best practices in software engineering, including coding standards, code reviews, testing methodologies, and documentation.
Identify and mitigate risks, technical debt, and other obstacles that may impact project delivery or team performance.
About you
Minimum of 10+ years experience with at least 3 years of experience serving in an engineering management role
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on achieving results.
You are very organized. With many people doing many things in a fast-moving company, strong organizational skills—both for yourself and for the team—will be required.
You possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
You are able to weigh several and often conflicting constraints and make rapid choices in a fast-moving and quickly-growing company.
You love helping engineers develop new skills and advance in their careers. You don’t shy away from performance conversations and you recognize the relationship between constructive feedback and career growth.
Experience with data storage, relational and non-relational databases
Experience in service-oriented and microservice architectures
